The National Hockey League’s sixth annual Winter Classic, the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, was a thriller that kept the 105,491 fans who packed University of Michigan Stadium captivated until the final buzzer. On January 1, 2014 the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Detroit Red Wings, 3-2, in a shootout.

The Red Wings wore a vintage red jersey with beige stripes and stylized felt numbers that evoked elements of several eras, and included new striping patterns. The famed Winged Wheel crest is felt. The jersey’s number style was used in 1982-83, the font of the word DETROIT dates to the 1930s, and the alternate captain and captain’s letters in a diamond on the sleeve dates to the 1950s.

Affixed to the right shoulder of each jersey is the 2014 NHL Winter Classic patch. NHL Winter Classic is screened into the inside back collar of each jersey. Each team wore four sets of jerseys at the Winter Classic: One for the photo shoot on Dec. 31, 2013 and the Winter Classic pre-game warmup, one in the first period, one in the second period, and one in the third period, overtime and shootout.

This red jersey was worn by #34 Petr Mrazek during the second period of the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic. Mrazek was the back-up goaltender for this game.

A MeiGray LOA will accompany this jersey.
