Glen Cochrane wore this red "Reverse Tomahawks" jersey while playing for the Chicago Blackhawks during the 1987-88 National Hockey League season. This is your opportunity to snag one of the rarest error jerseys in Game-Worn history. It features the extraordinarily rare "Reverse Tomahawk" shoulder patches, which inadvertently appeared on Blackhawks red road jerseys during the 1987-88 regular season. Only one set of red jerseys ever appeared with this mistake. The regular-season worn jerseys were incorrectly prepared with the home white-colored shoulder patches (green blades, red handles) on these red jerseys. The standard tomahawk for the red jerseys (white blades, green handles) returned for the Hawks' set worn in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This patch speaks to the unique stories and quirks found in the game-worn hobby that collectors love and to the scarcity of these rare, lore-rich pieces. Act fast, because you may never see one of these jerseys again - especially a hammered one worn by a famed enforcer. The jersey shows 10 sewn team repairs on the left sleeve, eight sewn team repairs on the right sleeve and one sewn repair on the front hem as well as black marks and a cut fight strap as evidence of use. The jersey shows the correct characteristics of Blackhawks gamers from this era, specifically the alignment of the letters on the nameplate as well as the placement of the letters and the nameplate on the back of the jerseys are correct. Cochrane played 411 games in the NHL, scoring 17 goals with 72 assists with a +60 rating. The famed Canadian enforcer was an intimidating presence on the blue line, mostly for the Philadelphia Flyers, carrying on that franchise's tradition of toughness established by players like Dave Schultz. Cochrane served a whopping 1,556 penalty minutes in his 10-year NHL career. The jersey has a very faded autograph that reads "To Kevin Best Wishes Glen Cochrane #5." MeiGray does not verify the authenticity of autographs. The jersey will include Letters of Authenticity from MeiGray and Drop the Gloves.
